Can I download Instagram Stories from private accounts?
No. ReelGrab only accesses publicly available content. Stories from private accounts are restricted to approved followers, and our tool respects that privacy setting. The Story must be from a public profile.
How do I get the URL of an Instagram Story?
Open Instagram in a web browser (like Chrome or Safari), go to the profile whose Story you want, click their profile picture to open the Story viewer, then copy the URL from the address bar. It should contain 'instagram.com/stories/' followed by the username.
Can I download Instagram Story Highlights?
Story Highlights have a different URL structure than active Stories. ReelGrab focuses on current 24-hour Stories. Highlight support may be added in a future update.
What quality are downloaded Instagram Stories?
Stories are saved at Instagram's original upload quality. Video Stories typically download at 1080x1920 resolution (9:16 vertical format). Photo Stories save at the resolution the creator uploaded them.
Does the Story owner get notified if I download their Story?
No. ReelGrab accesses the Story through Instagram's public web interface, the same way anyone views a public Story in a browser. The account owner is not notified of downloads made through ReelGrab.
Can I save Instagram Stories to my camera roll on iPhone?
Yes. After downloading the file, it will appear in your Files app. From there, tap the file, then use the Share button to 'Save to Photos' or 'Save Video' depending on whether it's a photo or video Story.
